Protection Officer - GBV Case Management Supervisor

About the role
The Protection Officer – GBV Case Management Supervisor will work under the direct guidance of the Protection Coordinator and Case Management Specialist to ensure high‑quality, survivor‑centred GBV case management services in the Humera Field Office. The role focuses on strengthening the technical capacity of caseworkers, maintaining rigorous documentation standards, and fostering a supportive environment for staff.
Key responsibilities
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and mentorship to GBV caseworkers and PCM assistants, ensuring adherence to Inter‑Agency GBV Case Management Guidelines and survivor‑centred approaches.
- Promote staff well‑being through regular debriefings, reflective practices, and a supportive work environment.
- Conduct weekly one‑hour supervision sessions with each caseworker to review case progress, discuss challenges, and give technical feedback.
- Facilitate bi‑weekly team meetings to encourage peer learning, case conferencing, and cohesion.
- Review case files bi‑weekly to verify quality, accuracy, and confidentiality of documentation.
- Assess capacity of GBV caseworkers, identify gaps, and develop targeted action plans.
- Develop monthly supervision plans in collaboration with caseworkers to prioritize follow‑up and capacity‑building activities.
- Monitor data entry quality and ensure compliance with data protection protocols.
- Identify training needs, design capacity‑building plans, and deliver training and on‑the‑job coaching.
- Provide direct case management support for complex, high‑risk, or sensitive cases.
Required profile
- Qualified professional with experience in protection and GBV case management.
- Demonstrated supervisory or mentorship experience in a humanitarian context.
- Strong knowledge of Inter‑Agency GBV Case Management Guidelines and survivor‑centred principles.
- Excellent documentation and data protection skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and maintain a supportive environment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
