RDP Technical Specialist (Maternity Cover) – Ethiopia

About the role

The RDP Technical Specialist will provide immediate technical leadership for a 5.5‑month maternity cover assignment in Addis Ababa. Reporting to the Head of the Technical Assistance Mechanism based in Nairobi, the specialist will draw on extensive knowledge of Ethiopia’s refugee and displaced persons (RDP) ecosystem to support Phase II of WUSC’s regional initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver rapid, high‑quality technical assistance to partners across the RDP ecosystem.
• Coordinate with Refugee‑Led Organizations, government actors, and other stakeholders to strengthen local technical capacities.
• Support the implementation of WUSC’s Phase II strategy, aiming to enable one million RDP youth to secure dignified work and 35,000 to access education.
• Provide guidance on policies, coordination structures, and partner networks specific to Ethiopia.
• Monitor and report on progress against technical assistance objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an RDP technical specialist with deep familiarity with Ethiopia’s refugee and displaced persons landscape.
• Currently residing in Ethiopia and holding valid work authorization.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to step into a senior technical role quickly and provide decisive leadership.
