Real Estate Accounts Receivable Officer

About the role

The Real Estate Accounts Receivable Officer will join Atsu Consult’s finance team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for managing tenant and client billing, ensuring timely rent and service‑charge collections, and supporting the month‑end and year‑end close for the property portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Issue invoices and record receipts for rent, service charges and deposits.
• Track payments, follow up overdue balances and reconcile customer accounts.
• Prepare aging reports and assist with cash‑flow forecasting.
• Verify lease terms against billing and coordinate with property managers and leasing teams.
• Respond to billing inquiries and maintain compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities related to receivables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Strong accounting and finance knowledge, especially accounts‑receivable processes and basic financial reporting.
• Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and ability to manage multiple accounts.
• Effective communication and customer‑service skills.
• Willingness to work full‑time on‑site in Addis Ababa and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Prior experience in real‑estate or property‑management accounting is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with real‑estate leasing concepts such as rent schedules, service charges and lease agreements.
