Recovery Officer – Loan Recovery (Assosa)

About the role

The Recovery Officer will be responsible for monitoring and recovering defaulted loans for Inkomoko in Assosa. The role involves proactive engagement with borrowers, local authorities, and internal teams to ensure timely repayment and minimize credit risk.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the credit portfolio, assess risk of potential defaults, and recommend recovery actions.
• Identify and escalate repayment irregularities for management review.
• Prepare monthly portfolio reports and weekly turnover updates for senior management.
• Maintain a trigger reporting system for credit impairments and propose corrective measures.
• Support loan officers, loan managers, and compliance officers on non‑performing loans.
• Contact borrowers via calls and site visits, send reminders, and conduct post‑disbursement spot checks.
• Monitor defaulter repayments to prevent recurrent non‑compliance and maintain PAR levels in line with CBK regulations.
• Coordinate with the Finance department to reconcile loan accounts and settle overdue balances.

Required profile

• Experience in loan recovery, credit monitoring, or related financial services.
• Ability to conduct field visits and liaise with local authorities.
• Strong analytical skills for risk evaluation and reporting.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements for loan portfolios.
