Research Associate

About the role

PxD is seeking a Research Associate to join a high‑performing, flexible, non‑hierarchical team. You will contribute to new workstreams, collaborate with PxD and affiliated researchers, and play a key role in testing and refining innovative ideas. The role uses rigorous methods to experiment, measure impact, and identify pathways to scale programs that help people in poverty improve their incomes and well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the team to scope, design, pilot, and scale evidence‑backed digital agriculture services, including field visits with farmers.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection (focus groups, interviews, surveys) and perform data cleaning.
• Collaborate with program teams to design user‑centered products, conduct human‑centered design activities, and generate insights into user needs and behaviors.
• Produce organized data summaries, conduct basic descriptive statistics and simple regression analysis, and contribute to report writing.
• Carry out literature reviews and desk research, providing input on research questions and structure.
• Develop and regularly update project documentation.
• Assist in managing partner relations and work with external stakeholders for program implementation.
• Support internal and external communications to disseminate results, including briefs, blogs, reports, and presentations.
• Contribute to PxD’s institutional knowledge management and internal learning efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, or a related field.
