Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will work on‑site in Addis Ababa, managing the general ledger, journal entries and financial reporting for Droongo System Solutions. This full‑time position supports month‑end and year‑end close, prepares financial statements and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to improve accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities, prepare and review journal entries, and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconcile bank and balance‑sheet accounts.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including financial statement preparation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and the preparation of management reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal controls, and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards such as GAAP or IFRS.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and tax compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Proven ability to work with finance and non‑finance stakeholders in a technology‑driven environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience using integrated business platforms for financial reporting.
