Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

EthioChicken is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its finance team in Bahir Dar. You will play a key part in controlling production costs, preparing financial statements, and providing data‑driven insights to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and analyse cost‑control measures across production.
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements.
• Conduct variance analysis and produce regular cost reporting.
• Prepare and post accounting journal entries.
• Track and allocate costs related to poultry production.
• Support the finance team with analytical insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proficiency in cost accounting and production cost evaluation.
• Experience preparing and analysing financial statements.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Expertise in managing accounting journal entries.
• Solid understanding of finance principles and financial management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA or equivalent is a plus).
• Experience in agricultural or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
