Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Inkomoko is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning (MERL) team. Reporting to the Business Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data platforms that support analytics and reporting across multiple African countries.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture, design and evolution of secure, reliable data solutions that enable data‑driven decision‑making.
• Lead the development of batch and real‑time data pipelines, including event‑driven streaming processes.
• Ensure data pipelines are efficient, datasets are clean, well‑documented and readily accessible for analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with the Digital Transformation (IT) team, Data & Quality Analysts, the Business Analytics Manager and country MERL teams.
• Maintain and optimise data platforms for performance, security and scalability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data pipeline engineering and analytics.
• Strong attention to data quality and documentation.
• Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional and multi‑country teams.
• Senior‑level expertise and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
