Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Gtap Digital Financial Services is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its Addis Ababa team. In this full‑time, on‑site position you will lead the design, implementation and operation of CI/CD pipelines and containerised platforms that power the company’s digital financial products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain end‑to‑end CI/CD workflows for multiple services.
• Deploy, scale and manage Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot production incidents and optimise performance, availability and cost.
• Collaborate with development and security teams to ensure secure, compliant releases.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor junior team members on DevOps best practices.

Required profile

• Strong background in software development and integration, with the ability to understand complex application architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with continuous integration and automated deployment processes.
• Proven track record of building highly available, secure systems in regulated environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in agile, cross‑functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, management).
• Advanced Linux system administration and shell scripting.
• CI/CD pipeline tools and practices.
• Cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, GCP (experience a plus).
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools – Terraform, Ansible.
• Monitoring and observability – Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks.
