Senior Driver (G-3) – Fixed Term

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Driver (G‑3) on a fixed‑term basis to provide secure, professional transportation for the Head of Office in Addis Ababa. The role combines high‑level driving duties with basic administrative support, ensuring smooth mobility for senior staff across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the Head of Office to official appointments, meetings, field missions and between residence and office, ensuring safety and punctuality.
• Maintain the vehicle’s condition, schedule regular servicing, and keep accurate mileage and fuel records.
• Coordinate travel logistics with internal departments and external partners, adhering to UN and diplomatic protocols.
• Utilise digital tracking systems to monitor vehicle location and generate reports.
• Provide basic administrative assistance such as managing travel documents, itineraries and expense records.
• Mentor and support junior drivers, fostering a culture of professionalism and client‑oriented service.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence with clean driving record.
• Experience driving senior officials or diplomatic personnel in a multicultural environment.
• Strong knowledge of UN and diplomatic protocol.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse nationalities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital vehicle tracking systems.
