Senior Gender Advisor

About the role

The Senior Gender Advisor will provide technical leadership on gender integration for the RESILIENT WE project, ensuring that women and girls benefit from inclusive, gender‑transformative interventions. This role supports emergency response, safeguarding, and capacity‑building activities across multiple partners and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead gender technical aspects of project delivery, including annual planning, implementation, and reporting.
• Review and validate gender‑related targets and indicators, advising the RESILIENCE WE team on strategies to exceed direct and indirect goals.
• Collaborate with the NEWA team on human‑rights and GBV safeguarding arrangements and review safeguarding planning tools.
• Develop and expand context‑based gender‑transformative approaches for organizational and programmatic change.
• Conduct capacity‑gap analyses and provide training and guidelines to CBOs, FBOs, and other community organisations.
• Ensure gender integration in market opportunities and convert GBV case‑management work into service delivery.
• Liaise with INGOs, LNGOs, and government representatives, representing gender in forums, task forces, and consortia.
• Monitor project progress jointly with thematic advisors, keeping women and girls at the centre of operations.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in gender programming and gender‑based violence within humanitarian contexts.
• Proven ability to lead gender integration and capacity‑building initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, human‑rights, and GBV response frameworks.
• Experience working with NGOs, community‑based organisations, and government partners.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills for multi‑stakeholder environments.
