Senior Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Senior Human Resources Officer will lead HR operations for Shobole Electromechanical in Addis Ababa. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on developing and implementing policies, managing employee relations, and supporting recruitment and onboarding to align HR practices with the company’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily HR operations and ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor regulations.
• Develop, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and programs.
• Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and counseling.
• Guide performance management processes and support career development.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and maintain accurate job descriptions and role profiles.
• Advise managers on HR best practices and maintain comprehensive HR records.
• Support training and development initiatives and collaborate with leadership to foster an inclusive, high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Strong HR and HR management experience, with a proven ability to lead HR operations.
• Experience developing and maintaining HR policies that support organizational objectives.
• Proficiency in employee relations, conflict resolution and promoting a respectful workplace.
• Background in job description development and role profiling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or related field; advanced HR certifications are a plus.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and demonstrated compliance.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
