Senior Internal Auditor – Africa CDC

About the role

The Africa Centres for Disease Control (Africa CDC) is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its Office of Internal Oversight in Addis Ababa. The role will provide independent, risk‑based audit and assurance services that strengthen governance, risk management, internal controls and accountability across the organisation’s public‑health programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and updating a risk‑based internal audit plan aligned with institutional priorities and oversight needs.
• Identify and assess audit universe components, high‑risk processes and auditable entities across Africa CDC.
• Prepare annual and engagement‑level audit work plans, objectives, scopes and testing procedures.
• Conduct audit fieldwork, document findings, and draft audit and oversight reports.
• Perform preliminary reviews of complaints and allegations and provide investigative support as required.
• Monitor implementation of agreed management actions and follow‑up on corrective measures.

Required profile

• Relevant professional experience in internal audit, risk‑based audit planning and internal control assessments.
• Experience supporting investigations or reviewing allegations of misconduct.
• Ability to work independently under the supervision of the Head of Internal Oversight.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
