Senior Malaria Advisor – LEAP Global (Ethiopia)

About the role

The Senior Malaria Advisor will provide high‑level strategic and technical assistance to Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health, supporting the national malaria agenda and life‑saving humanitarian assistance in line with the new Presidential Executive Order directives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction for malaria prevention, control and elimination activities embedded within the Office of the state minister.
• Strengthen coordination across regional health bureaus, federal agencies (EPHI, EFDA, AHRI) and international implementers.
• Oversee the MOVBD Prevention and Control Desk, ensuring cost‑effective, evidence‑based interventions.
• Identify programmatic bottlenecks and orchestrate coordinated solutions aligned with Ethiopia’s national malaria strategy.
• Prepare and submit monthly performance reports to the U.S. Department of State.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in malaria control programs.
• Proven ability to work within government ministries and multi‑sectoral environments.
• Familiarity with U.S. government reporting requirements and humanitarian assistance frameworks.
