Senior Parts Planner

About the role

The client, a leading distributor of heavy machinery in the Horn of Africa, is expanding its mining fleet and needs a Senior Parts Planner to ensure parts availability for a large Komatsu mining fleet in Ethiopia. The role operates on a 7/3 FIFO schedule on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure operational parts availability for a large‑scale Komatsu mining fleet by executing hands‑on parts planning aligned with maintenance activities.
• Execute day‑to‑day parts planning based on maintenance plans, breakdowns, and operational priorities.
• Translate weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly maintenance schedules into actionable parts requirements.
• Maintain accurate parts forecasts, continuously adjusting them based on actual consumption and site feedback.
• Monitor stock levels on site and trigger timely replenishment recommendations to the maintenance or procurement team.
• Follow up on open orders, back‑orders and deliveries to guarantee parts are available when required.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10 years experience in mining or heavy‑equipment maintenance/support, with at least 5 years in parts planning.
• Substantial hands‑on experience with Komatsu mining equipment (PC2000, HD785, D275, WA600, GD825).
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning and component lifecycles.
• Experience with ERP systems (ideally INFOR M3) and strong Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Ethiopia.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
