Senior Program Manager, Clinical AI

About the role

CHAI is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead its Clinical AI initiative in Ethiopia. The role will drive the design, implementation and scaling of AI‑enabled solutions that improve health service delivery, patient outcomes and system efficiency in low‑ and middle‑income settings.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI program strategy in alignment with CHAI’s mission and country priorities.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to develop, pilot and scale AI tools for diagnostics, treatment optimization and patient engagement.
• Ensure responsible AI practices, data governance and ethical considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage partnerships with governments, NGOs, academia and private‑sector technology providers.
• Monitor program performance, produce impact assessments and share learnings across CHAI’s global network.

Required profile

• Extensive experience strengthening health systems in low‑resource environments.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale health programs, preferably with an AI or digital health component.
• Strong understanding of LMIC health challenges and the regulatory landscape.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
