About the role
The Senior Succession & Leadership Development Officer will lead the bank’s succession, career planning and talent management initiatives. Working closely with senior leaders, the officer ensures critical positions are identified, competency frameworks are defined, and high‑potential talent is nurtured through transparent programs.
Key responsibilities
- Identify critical positions across the bank and define required competencies.
- Identify high‑potential employees and design succession planning programs.
- Implement and monitor career development and management programmes.
- Ensure all activities comply with approved policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with HR and business units to embed succession and career planning into daily operations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
- Professional HR qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant HR experience, preferably in succession or talent development.
- Strong interpersonal and cross‑cultural skills with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and risk‑awareness capabilities.
Required skills
- Human Resources management and Business Administration expertise.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian employment and labour relations law.
- Familiarity with best‑in‑class HR practices and succession planning tools.
- Ability to implement systems for monitoring and evaluating succession programmes.
