Senior Vaccine and Cold Chain Management Consultant

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to support Ethiopia's Ministry of Health and the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPSS) in managing the national vaccine and cold‑chain supply chain. The role combines technical oversight with capacity‑building at regional and local levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, forecast, procure, store, distribute, monitor and report on vaccines, supplies and cold‑chain equipment.
• Develop national cold‑chain equipment inventories and rehabilitation plans.
• Provide technical assistance and training to Ministry of Health staff and partners.
• Ensure compliance with WHO PQS‑listed equipment standards and Gavi CCEOP processes.
• Support data quality, reporting and analytics for supply‑chain performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in health‑sector supply chain, logistics or inventory control, including emergency contexts.
• Proven experience working with ministries of health and national immunization programs.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel frequently within Ethiopia.
