University Lecturer (Remote, Full-time)

About the role

Arba Minch University is seeking a full-time remote University Lecturer to join its academic staff. The successful candidate will design, prepare and deliver online lectures, seminars and tutorials for undergraduate and graduate programmes, ensuring high-quality, engaging learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update course materials, syllabi, learning outcomes and assessment methods.
• Deliver online lectures, seminars and tutorials using virtual platforms.
• Assess student performance, provide feedback and supervise projects or theses.
• Maintain accurate academic records and contribute to curriculum development.
• Participate in virtual departmental meetings, academic advising and quality-assurance processes.
• Engage in research, publish scholarly work and supervise student research projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline (doctoral degree preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in higher-education teaching and instructional design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with colleagues.
• Familiarity with Ethiopian or international higher-education standards is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems and online/blended learning tools.
• Experience with remote teaching technologies and virtual classroom platforms.
• Instructional design and development of assessment methods.
