Woreda Facilitator (Community Development)

About the role

SNV is seeking a Woreda Facilitator to support the Realizing Aspiration of Youth in Ethiopia through Employment (RAYEE II) programme in the Awi Zone. The role will work at woreda and kebele level to help implement youth‑employment activities in horticulture, poultry, dairy and related value chains, with a strong focus on gender equity and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and organisational support for programme implementation across Banja, Guangua and Enjibara woredas.
• Facilitate community meetings, coordinate with local authorities and partner NGOs to promote youth employment initiatives.
• Monitor and report on progress of activities, ensuring compliance with GESI and safeguarding standards.
• Support the identification and development of market‑oriented opportunities for rural young women.
• Assist in data collection, documentation and dissemination of best practices.

Required profile

• Experience in community facilitation, rural development or agricultural programmes.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian woreda and kebele administrative structures.
• Understanding of gender equity and social inclusion approaches.
• Ability to work independently in remote settings and travel within the assigned woredas.
