Accountant – Restaurant Finance (Addis Ababa)

About the role

The Accountant will join Kaz Japanese Restaurant’s finance team in Addis Ababa, handling all core accounting functions for a fast‑paced hospitality operation. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate financial recording, supports budgeting, and maintains compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Post daily transactions, maintain general ledgers, and reconcile bank and cash accounts.
• Prepare regular financial statements and assist with budgeting and cost‑control initiatives.
• Monitor restaurant revenue and expenses, providing insights to management.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, and process payroll data.
• Ensure compliance with local tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with management on financial analysis, support audits, and improve financial processes.

Required profile

• Strong accounting and bookkeeping background, preferably in hospitality or retail.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control, and cash‑flow management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including formulas and basic reporting.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and payroll compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification is a plus.
• Prior experience in restaurant or food‑service finance is highly beneficial.
