Architectural Engineering Technician – Senior Associate

About the role

This position offers the chance to contribute to high‑impact infrastructure projects in the Horn of Africa within a mission‑driven environment. You will support architectural and engineering design, ensuring technical integrity and quality of deliverables that directly benefit communities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare CAD drawings, 3D models, renderings and design documentation for infrastructure and building projects.
• Develop design concepts and presentations, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery.
• Produce architectural plans, sections, elevations, site layouts and detailed working drawings using AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent software.
• Create structural drawings (floor plans, columns, beams, reinforcement) based on inputs from engineers.
• Prepare discipline‑specific drawings for sanitary, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Support design revisions, updating drawings throughout design and construction phases.
• Participate in technical coordination meetings, attend site visits and prepare site sketches and layouts.
• Identify drafting issues and propose practical solutions; assist in as‑built drawing preparation.

Required profile

• Specialized technical support experience in architectural and engineering design.
• Ability to apply professional architectural engineering principles and manage service delivery.
• Experience contributing to process improvements and ensuring accuracy of design outputs.
• Capacity to work under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD (latest version).
• Proficiency with Revit or equivalent BIM software.
• Experience in 3D modeling and rendering for design documentation.
• Ability to produce structural, sanitary, electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards and technical specifications.
