Breathe Cities Lead – Addis Ababa

About the role

The Clean Air Fund is looking for a Breathe Cities Lead to spearhead its first air‑quality programme in Ethiopia. Based in Addis Ababa, you will shape and execute a city‑wide strategy that improves air quality, protects public health and supports sustainable urban development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of a comprehensive air‑quality strategy for Addis Ababa.
• Develop, manage and monitor a portfolio of high‑impact grants and partnerships.
• Support initiatives such as air‑quality monitoring, public engagement campaigns and capacity‑building programmes.
• Build and maintain relationships with city officials, policymakers, funders and technical experts.
• Provide evidence‑based recommendations to improve the health and wellbeing of millions of residents.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership experience in environmental policy, public health, climate, urban development or a related field.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on delivery capability.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement and partnership‑building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving, multi‑partner environment.
