Cash & Digital Business Unit Head

About the role

The Cash & Digital Business Unit Head provides strategic leadership, technical oversight and operational management of World Vision Ethiopia’s Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) portfolio. The role drives design, implementation, quality assurance, innovation and scaling of humanitarian cash and digital delivery systems across emergency, recovery and resilience programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of multi‑year CVA strategies, business plans and donor engagement to expand cash programming opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership for cash feasibility, market assessments, modality selection and ensure compliance with global standards and donor requirements.
• Oversee digital transformation, integrating LMMS/ITS, mobile money, e‑voucher and other payment platforms with humanitarian delivery systems.
• Manage implementation across regions, monitor performance, ensure financial stewardship and coordinate with supply‑chain, finance and technical teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience, including at least 5 years in managerial positions within humanitarian cash assistance.
• Proven experience in emergency response or fragile‑state contexts, with strong field operations background.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities, and capacity to translate technical concepts to strategic audiences.

Required skills

• Experience with LMMS/ITS integration and digital assistance delivery platforms.
• Knowledge of mobile money, banking solutions, e‑voucher and emerging digital payment systems.
• Ability to conduct cash feasibility, market assessments and post‑distribution monitoring.
