Construction Technician – On-site (Addis Ababa)

About the role

Sinohydro is seeking a full‑time Technician to join its on‑site team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role supports daily construction and engineering activities by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair construction equipment and mechanical systems.
• Perform routine inspections and document technical issues and resolutions.
• Assist engineers with testing, measurements, and data collection.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other technicians to coordinate tasks and report progress.

Required profile

• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Practical experience using hand tools, measurement instruments, and reading technical documentation (manuals, drawings, specifications).
• Good problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of site safety standards and basic quality‑control practices.
• Relevant technical diploma or degree in engineering, mechanics, or a related field (beneficial).
• Prior experience on construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects is an advantage.
• Ability to work in varying site conditions and adapt to changing requirements.
