Copywriter & Scriptwriter (Addis Ababa)

About the role

Lumen Communications is seeking a talented Copywriter and Scriptwriter to join its Addis Ababa team. In this full‑time, on‑site position you will craft clear, engaging copy for a variety of marketing and PR channels while also developing scripts for video, audio and digital content. You will work closely with creative, marketing and production teams to ensure messaging aligns with brand objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Write and edit compelling copy for marketing materials, press releases, social media posts and other communication channels.
• Develop scripts for video, audio, podcast and online digital content, adapting tone and style for different audiences.
• Research topics, refine key messages and ensure consistency with brand guidelines.
• Proofread all content for grammar, style and brand accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and, when required, clients to meet project deadlines across multiple campaigns.

Required profile

• Strong writing ability with experience creating press releases and public‑relations content.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional teamwork.
• Detail‑oriented proofreading to maintain grammar, style and brand consistency.
• Understanding of marketing principles and how copy and scripts drive brand awareness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven capacity to manage several projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
