Digital Health Consultant – Ethiopia

About the role

The Digital Health Consultant will support Phase 2 of the national scale‑up of HEP Assist AI, an AI‑powered clinical decision‑support tool co‑developed with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health. Based in Addis Ababa, the consultant will act as the technical and coordination link between Last Mile Health and the Ministry’s Digital Health Lead Executive Office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on product design, system architecture, and software implementation for HEP Assist AI.
• Coordinate with Ministry stakeholders, senior engineers, and program teams to align digital health priorities.
• Represent Last Mile Health in high‑level meetings, ensuring strategic alignment with national health objectives.
• Support blended learning initiatives that combine digital and in‑person training for Health Extension Workers.
• Monitor and report on progress of the AI tool’s deployment and impact.

Required profile

• Mission‑driven professional with experience in digital health projects.
• Ability to work effectively within government structures and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Experience with AI‑enabled clinical decision‑support tools.
• Knowledge of digital health system architecture and software implementation processes.
