ERP Implementation Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end implementation of an ERP system in Addis Ababa. The role will oversee the full project lifecycle, from planning through go‑live and stabilization, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, budget, quality standards and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the overall project plan, timeline, budget and resource allocation across all implementation phases.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, executive sponsors, functional consultants, technical teams and the implementation partner.
• Define and control project scope, manage change requests and mitigate scope creep.
• Identify, log and resolve project risks and issues, maintaining a risk register.
• Monitor project costs, track budget burn and coordinate resources across workstreams.
• Align activities across functional (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Production) and technical workstreams (data migration, integrations, custom development, security).
• Manage vendor and partner relationships, including contract deliverables and performance.
• Apply an appropriate project methodology (e.g., SAP Activate, PMI/PMBOK, Agile/Scrum or hybrid).
• Oversee test planning (unit, integration, UAT) and coordinate cut‑over/go‑live activities, including data migration and rollback planning.
• Coordinate organizational change management, training and communication to ensure end‑user readiness.
• Provide regular status reporting, RAID logs and milestone tracking to steering committees and leadership.

Required profile

• Proven track record managing complex, cross‑functional ERP implementation projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with budget and resource management in large‑scale projects.
• Ability to lead risk, issue and change control processes.
• Familiarity with ERP functional areas such as finance, procurement, supply chain and sales.
