Field Medic

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is launching a humanitarian mine‑action programme in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. We are seeking a qualified Field Medic to provide medical support to NTS/EORE teams and advise on health matters for the HDP humanitarian mine‑action operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency medical aid to deployed teams in line with IMAS ICP level requirements.
• Offer medical guidance on health‑related concerns and ensure teams are equipped and trained according to DRC HDP SOPs.
• Maintain accurate medical reporting, produce timely records, and support accident investigations.
• Conduct regular casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) drills in coordination with technical managers.
• Provide oversight to the Operations Manager on all medical matters.

Required profile

• Minimum BA degree in Nursing.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in mine‑action or humanitarian settings.
• Fluency in Tigrigna and intermediate English.
• Willingness to work in remote and volatile field environments.
