Freelance Data Collector for Youth Program in Ethiopia

About the role

Girl Effect is seeking freelance data collectors to support the Yegna Gize program, a three‑year initiative aimed at empowering Ethiopian youth. The role involves gathering primary data from young beneficiaries across multiple regions to assess mindset shifts and knowledge gains resulting from program interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct face‑to‑face surveys with youth participants in the listed Amhara, Central Ethiopia, Oromia, Sidama, South Ethiopia, and Tigray locations.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness by following the provided questionnaire protocols.
• Record responses using approved data‑collection tools and submit clean datasets to the program team.
• Maintain confidentiality of respondents and adhere to ethical research standards.
• Report any field challenges or insights that may inform program adaptations.

Required profile

• Previous experience conducting field surveys or enumerations.
• Familiarity with the geographic areas and local languages of the target regions.
• Ability to travel to remote sites and work independently.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
