Grants Program Manager

About the role

The Grants Program Manager will lead the national implementation of a donor‑funded grant program in Ethiopia. Reporting to the Institutional Grants Team, the incumbent will guide a country management team, align the program model with local needs, and ensure compliance with donor agreements and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Advocate for child protection and embed child‑safety considerations in all program decisions.
• Provide strategic leadership, planning and coordination with local partners, a national Steering Committee, and the transition partner.
• Develop, monitor and report on the project budget, ensuring timely delivery of deliverables and compliance with regulatory and board policies.
• Hire, coach, evaluate and, when necessary, terminate staff to achieve program objectives.
• Customize the program model to the Ethiopian context, integrating functional disciplines to meet grant objectives.
• Maintain alignment with donor requirements, approved proposals and sector best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale grant‑funded programs or projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to child protection and ability to act on related concerns.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts and compliance reporting.
