Head of Industrial Electrical Products Division

About the role

We are establishing a new Industrial Electrical Products Division and are looking for a senior leader to build the business from the ground up. Reporting to the CEO and based in Addis Ababa, the Head will be fully accountable for revenue, gross margin and technical integrity of the division.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the divisional business plan, budget, organisational structure and obtain management approval.
• Take full P&L responsibility, managing revenue, gross margin, inventory turnover and working capital.
• Define the product portfolio – LV switchgear, main and distribution switchboards, motor control centres, transfer switches, power factor correction panels and related components.
• Identify, qualify and negotiate with international manufacturers, manage import cycles, customs clearance and landed‑cost control.
• Set up the assembly workshop, including layout, tooling, wiring standards, testing equipment and staffing.
• Establish operating procedures, quality standards and regular management reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in establishing and leading an industrial electrical or switchgear business.
• Strong commercial acumen with full P&L responsibility.
• Ability to develop supplier relationships and manage import logistics.
• Excellent technical knowledge of LV switchgear and related electrical components.
