Logistics Assistant & Driver

About the role

RTI International is seeking a Logistics Assistant/Driver to support a five‑year USDA Food for Progress program in Ethiopia. The role combines safe transportation services with logistical and administrative support for project staff, partners, and consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Provide reliable, professional transportation for staff, partners, visitors, and consultants within the city and to regional field locations.
• Collect and deliver goods, mail, documents, and other items as required.
• Meet project personnel at the airport and assist with immigration and customs formalities.
• Perform day‑to‑day vehicle maintenance, including checks of oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, minor repairs, and arranging external repairs.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logs: mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, and greasing.
• Manage stores and office supplies, keep vehicle records, and support general logistics and administrative tasks.
• Coordinate with local authorities and ensure compliance with traffic rules and RTI policies.

Required profile

• Qualified candidate for a Logistics Assistant/Driver position.
• Ability to provide safe and reliable driving services.
• Experience in transport coordination and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Capability to manage office supplies and maintain accurate records.
• Willingness to support staff, partners, and short‑term consultants in a multicultural environment.
