Logistics Assistant

About the role

Under the supervision of the Logistics and Transport Coordinator, the Logistics Assistant will manage the receipt, storage and dispatch of medical and non‑medical supplies for Orbis Finance & Administration in Ethiopia. The role ensures accurate inventory records, secure store conditions and timely distribution to field offices.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain store security, control access to keys and report incidents.
• Receive incoming materials, prepare goods receiving notes and file documentation.
• Issue supplies against authorized requisitions and issue vouchers.
• Update bin cards, control stock balances and prepare monthly stock movement reports.
• Arrange items by location, shelf and code for easy retrieval and physical counts.
• Prepare requisitions to replenish stock, propose disposal of damaged or expired items.
• Participate in annual physical inventories and fixed‑asset counts.
• Implement cost‑effective material handling procedures and ensure compliance with Orbis and government protocols.

Required profile

• Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field of study.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in logistics, warehouse or supply‑chain support.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and collaborate with procurement and other teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using a store management system for inventory tracking.
