Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing all maintenance activities safely, on‑time and in‑full (OTIF) while ensuring compliance with food‑safety (HACCP) and legal standards. The role supports production by performing corrective, preventive and overhaul maintenance, and by coaching operators and junior technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned and corrective maintenance tasks safely and OTIF, following LOTO, minor‑intervention and HACCP procedures.
• Perform tagging/detagging, equipment hand‑over, and lock‑out‑tag‑out‑try‑out processes.
• Identify and rectify equipment performance issues during zonal tours and production shift hand‑overs.
• Prepare critical‑part lists, manage spare‑part risk, and update maintenance standards (HACS) as needed.
• Organise work areas, documentation and toolboxes according to 5S standards.
• Coach and train operators and technicians, support TPM activities and lead RCFA/BDA (5‑why) investigations.
• Collaborate with maintenance planners, execute work orders in the CMMS, and ensure accurate registration.
• Participate in APM roll‑out teams, drive MTBF/MTTR improvements and define follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent vocational education.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and solid technical knowledge of machinery.
• Experience with TPM, LOTO, HACCP and 5S methodologies.
