About the role
The Principal District Banking Business Officer will lead and supervise multiple branch operations within an assigned district, ensuring compliance with Sharia principles and delivering high‑quality banking services. This senior position supports ZamZam Bank’s mission of ethical, inclusive, interest‑free banking while driving growth and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of all branches in the district, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Branch Managers to meet performance and operational standards.
- Analyze financial and performance reports, identify trends, and implement improvement plans.
- Lead business development and sales strategies aligned with Islamic finance principles.
- Ensure branches are properly staffed, trained, and operate in a secure, customer‑friendly environment.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies, Sharia guidelines, and regulatory frameworks such as KYC and AML.
- Support rollout and adoption of new products and services across the district.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, community leaders, and local businesses.
- Address escalated customer issues and enhance satisfaction levels.
- Prepare and submit regular performance reports to senior management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years (Bachelor) or 3 years (Master) experience in banking or financial services.
- At least 2 years in a senior branch management or multi‑branch supervisory role.
Required skills
- Knowledge of daily banking functions and Sharia‑compliant financing.
- Understanding of KYC, AML, and Islamic finance regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial reports and performance metrics.
- Strong communication skills aligned with Islamic values.
- Capability to build cooperative relationships and motivate staff.
- Ability to align branch operations with bank‑wide strategic goals.
- Additional advantage: knowledge of interest‑free banking.
