Regional Clinical Officer – Malaria & NTDs (South Ethiopia)

About the role

PATH is seeking a Regional Clinical Officer to support the USG‑funded REACH Malaria project in South Ethiopia. The officer will provide technical assistance, mentorship, and supervision to health facilities and community health workers to improve malaria case management and related health services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regular mentorship and supportive supervision to health posts and centers on malaria case management.
• Coordinate with district health offices and regional health bureaus to plan and implement malaria support packages.
• Develop and review tools such as mentorship checklists, job aids, SOPs, and training materials.
• Conduct baseline assessments and tailor follow‑up support for each facility.
• Distribute essential guidelines, manuals, and case‑management commodities.
• Assist in designing and implementing a quality‑assurance program for malaria services.

Required profile

• Clinical background with experience in malaria and neglected tropical diseases.
• Proven ability to deliver mentorship, supervision, and training to health workers.
• Familiarity with regional health systems and coordination with government health bureaus.
• Strong analytical skills for baseline assessments and monitoring.
