Senior Investment Officer (Jigjiga)

About the role

The Senior Investment Officer will lead investment activities for Inkomoko in Jigjiga, supporting refugee and local entrepreneurs through loan management, due‑diligence and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate loan officers in African Entrepreneur Collective Kenya Limited, set work plans and conduct weekly check‑ins.
• Monitor key goals and develop daily strategies aligned with budget and organisational culture.
• Collaborate with the Loan Manager and Portfolio Director to plan and manage budget, staffing and resource needs.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with donor, local policies, laws and regulations.
• Oversee HR and credit‑policy compliance for supervised staff and apply disciplinary actions when required.
• Represent Inkomoko in stakeholder and government meetings, acting as loan manager when absent.
• Elevate trends, risks and notable activities to senior management.
• Respond to prospective borrower inquiries, conduct due‑diligence and prepare contracts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in investment, loan management or micro‑finance operations.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, credit policies and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead and supervise a team, set objectives and monitor performance.
• Analytical mindset with capacity to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
