About the role
Save the Children is looking for a motivated Social Behavioural Change (SBC) Officer to support the GSK‑funded immunisation programme in Ethiopia. The role focuses on generating community demand for vaccination and addressing sociocultural barriers at the woreda level.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate and monitor SBC interventions aimed at increasing vaccine uptake among zero‑dose and under‑immunised children.
- Conduct assessments to identify gender‑related and cultural obstacles to immunisation.
- Provide technical assistance to government partners at regional, zonal and woreda levels.
- Strengthen the capacity of field staff in demand‑generation activities.
- Support the development of SBC strategies aligned with national community mobilisation plans.
- Report on SBC activities, outcomes and lessons learned.
Required profile
- Relevant academic background in public health, social sciences or a related field.
- Experience working on community‑based health programmes, preferably immunisation.
- Strong understanding of gender and cultural dynamics in Ethiopia.
- Ability to work collaboratively with government and partner organisations.
