Technical Director – Faith and Community Initiative Project (FCI) – Ethiopia

About the role

The Technical Director will lead the design, planning, and implementation of World Vision’s Faith and Community Initiative (FCI) integrated health program in Ethiopia. This senior position translates strategic priorities from donors, the Ethiopian government, and PEPFAR into effective, high‑quality health services for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership for the FCI health program, ensuring alignment with strategy, award requirements, and national policies.
• Lead integration of HIV, TB, MNCH, nutrition, community health, primary health care, and health‑system strengthening across facilities, community platforms, and faith‑based organizations.
• Establish technical standards, quality‑assurance mechanisms, SOPs, tools, and continuous improvement processes.
• Monitor technical performance, identify gaps in service quality and coverage, and implement corrective actions.
• Engage senior technical partners including the Federal Ministry of Health, regional health bureaus, and local implementing partners.
• Conduct capacity assessments and oversee technical assistance, mentorship, training, and supportive supervision for partners.
• Collaborate with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) teams to capture evidence, drive innovation, and adapt programming.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading integrated health programs in low‑resource settings.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian health policies, PEPFAR expectations, and public‑health frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi‑sectoral teams and resolve technical bottlenecks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with government, NGOs, and faith‑based partners.
