Copywriter – Advertising & Marketing

About the role

Berry Advertising is looking for a creative Copywriter to join its on‑site team in Addis Ababa. You will craft compelling written content for a variety of marketing assets, ensuring each piece aligns with client objectives and brand voice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop original copy for advertising campaigns across print, digital, radio, social media, outdoor and video.
• Write long‑form content such as blogs, website copy, newsletters, press releases and articles.
• Collaborate with creative, account and production teams to brainstorm concepts and deliver cohesive messaging.
• Research client industries, products and services to produce accurate, impactful copy.
• Edit, adapt and proofread content for different media, audiences and tones.
• Maintain version control of drafts and approvals while meeting multiple deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Advertising or a related field.
• 1–2 years of copywriting or content writing experience, preferably in an agency setting.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating short‑form ad copy, long‑form content and digital media work.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities with a talent for switching voices and tones.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
