Remote VQI Data Abstractor (Full‑time or Part‑time)

About the role

This remote position focuses on abstracting clinical data for one or more Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) registries. The role ensures high‑quality, accurate data collection from patient records related to vascular surgery, supporting research and quality improvement efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and abstract data from patient medical records, including diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and outcomes.
• Validate abstracted information by cross‑referencing multiple sources within each record.
• Enter and maintain data in the VQI registry using specialized software.
• Participate in routine quality‑assurance audits to verify data integrity.
• Stay current with vascular care developments and data‑management guidelines from ACS and SVS.

Required profile

• Recent experience (within 2 years) abstracting VQI registries.
• Familiarity with medical records, billing/documentation practices, and healthcare quality concepts.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• High attention to detail and strong accuracy standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• MSN, BSN, or RN preferred; CPHQ certification preferred.
