Advanced Care Paramedic

About the role

The Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) provides emergency medical care on scene and during transport, while also delivering community‑based health services for patients who do not require immediate hospital admission. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess emergency scenes and patients, determining the need for transport or on‑site treatment.
• Operate ambulances or other EMS vehicles, ensuring they are properly stocked and equipped.
• Administer medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy such as defibrillation.
• Lead ALS crews during patient transport and at emergency scenes.
• Provide scheduled or immediate medical supervision in community settings, coordinating with existing healthcare services.
• Maintain compliance with EMS protocols, medical consultation guidelines, and best practice standards.

Required profile

• Strong communication, time‑management and clinical decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work within a diverse, multidisciplinary workforce.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 105 lb, perform frequent kneeling, trunk flexion, and sustain prolonged standing or sitting.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and remote locations.
