Senior Project Associate – Protection (Counter Trafficking)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Project Associate to support protection interventions in Ethiopia, focusing on counter‑trafficking activities. Reporting to the Programme Officer (Protection) and under the direct supervision of the National Officer (Protection), the role will contribute to case management, capacity development, and policy support for vulnerable migrants.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of specialized protection interventions within the Protection Unit, including counter‑trafficking, case management, and capacity development.
• Assist in developing and strengthening referral systems and private‑sector response for victims of trafficking.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of legislation, policies, and guidelines related to counter‑trafficking.
• Produce and promote research and data to improve counter‑trafficking responses.
• Collaborate with the Programme Officer (Protection) and National Officer (Protection) to ensure effective delivery of protection services.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in migration, human rights, social sciences, law or a related field.
• Experience in protection, counter‑trafficking, case management, or capacity building for service providers.
• Ability to work under supervision within a multi‑stakeholder environment.
