Sheet Metal Certifying Technician (Ethiopia)

About the role

Air Arabia is recruiting a Sheet Metal Certifying Technician for its engineering recruitment event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in mid-November 2026. The role covers certifying structural maintenance on Airline and third-party aircraft undergoing line or base maintenance, including repairs, modifications, installations, inspections and defect rectification, while overseeing assigned technicians and ensuring airworthiness and compliance with approved standards and regulations. Key responsibilities

• Prepare for, perform and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks according to task cards, approved data and regulatory standards.
• Oversee assigned technicians, resolve technical issues and give on-the-job guidance.
• Review task cards with the Engineer or Supervisor to confirm scope, documentation, priorities and safety precautions.
• Inspect and rectify defects using approved maintenance data.
• Record maintenance actions, test results, defect rectification and parts usage in the Maintenance Information system.
• Keep shop inventory compatible and ready, and control resource use to minimise waste and costs.
• Maintain clear communication with engineers, technicians and operational teams, enforce safety regulations and human factors principles, and keep the workplace clean and organised.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Structural/Airframe) or equivalent technical discipline.
• 4 years' experience maintaining aircraft structures and structural parts, preferably Airbus types.
• Company-issued Certifying Authorization for aircraft structure, or related training with demonstrated proficiency.
• Physically fit, able to work in confined spaces and outdoors, and able to work rostered shifts.

Required skills
