Production Manager - Textile Factory

About the role

Bahir Dar Textile Share Company, a textiles manufacturer in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, is looking for a full-time, on-site Production Manager. The manager oversees day-to-day textile production so that output meets quality, safety and delivery standards, working closely with quality control, maintenance, procurement and warehouse teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organize production schedules and allocate resources to meet targets
• Manage production staff and monitor equipment and processes
• Coordinate maintenance needs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Collaborate with quality control, maintenance, procurement and warehouse teams to align production with customer orders
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Prepare reports, analyze production data and support leadership in strategic planning for capacity and performance improvements

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in production management, preferably in textiles, garments or manufacturing
• Experience working on-site in factories and willingness to be present on the shop floor
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management or a related field preferred
• Strong English communication; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
