Director of People – East Africa

About the role

DP World is seeking a strategic leader to drive the People agenda across East Africa. Reporting to senior business leaders, you will shape and execute HR initiatives that boost productivity, engagement, and talent development.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the regional People strategy, focusing on leadership capability, workforce performance, employee engagement and talent management.
• Partner with business leaders to source talent in line with DP World’s diversity and inclusion goals.
• Collaborate with the Learning Centre of Excellence to deliver capability‑building programmes for current and future needs.
• Design and roll out initiatives that foster a high‑performance culture while keeping employees motivated.
• Ensure quality across the HR value chain and embed DP World’s culture throughout the region.
• Track and deliver HR metrics for the business unit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of relevant experience, including at least 6 years in business‑leadership or specialist HR roles.
• Strong HR generalist background with extensive change‑management experience.
• Proven labour‑relations expertise.
• Eligibility to work in the target country.
