About the role
The Field People & Culture Business Partner supports the delivery of HR services for WFP‑related projects in the Gambella region and other locations. Reporting administratively to the FCO Lead and technically to the P&C Manager‑Grants, the role works closely with talent acquisition, P&C operations and field coordination offices to provide integrated HR solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end recruitment: develop job descriptions, advertise vacancies, shortlist candidates, coordinate tests and interviews, and conduct reference checks.
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation, ensuring new staff understand WVE policies, technical duties and performance expectations.
- Support managers in identifying learning and development opportunities and approve training plans.
- Maintain and update the Workday HRIS, ensuring accurate position and reporting line data.
- Manage performance processes, staff counselling, grievance handling and disciplinary actions in line with legal and organisational standards.
- Coordinate staff well‑being initiatives, team‑building activities, social events and recognition programmes.
Required profile
- Proven experience in HR operations within humanitarian, development or similar project environments.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and adapt to changing field conditions.
