ICLA Social Support – Aftit Refugee Camp

About the role

The ICLA Social Support role assists the Norwegian Refugee Council’s Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance programme in Aftit refugee camp and nearby host communities. Working under ICLA Officers, the position provides community outreach, beneficiary communication and administrative support to ensure effective delivery of ICLA services.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements in daily tasks.
• Act as a point of contact between the community and ICLA staff, relaying information as guided.
• Support the organization of mobile group information sessions, including preparing materials, registering participants and arranging venues.
• Maintain communication records with beneficiaries, updating contact lists and tracking sheets.
• Provide administrative support for case management such as filing, data entry and document organization.
• Assist logistical arrangements for outreach and awareness activities, including venue setup, participant registration and distribution of IEC materials.
• Keep organized records of documents, meeting notes and routine letters.
• Share feedback with supervisors, cooperate with partners and local authorities, and perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Minimum education: Grade 12 or higher.
• Basic communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, organise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to NRC’s mission, vision and values.
