Attorney – Legal Research & Advisory (Addis Ababa)

About the role

The Legal Research & Advisory Officer will safeguard Dashen Bank’s interests by preparing legal briefs, delivering advice, and interpreting laws, regulations and contracts in line with approved policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare legal briefs and opinions on laws, regulations and contracts in accordance with bank policies.
• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on banking, finance and related regulatory matters.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support decision‑making.
• Review, draft and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with the financial sector regulatory framework.
• Develop proposals, concept papers, position papers and reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law; additional certification in law, banking or finance is a plus.
• Minimum four years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the banking or financial sector.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
